Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 18 months of experience and Cerner charting proficiency.
Job Details
• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting,
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM),
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals,
• Cerner charting system used,
Job Requirements
• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start date,
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required,
• Minimum 18 months of recent RN experience required,
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation,
• Cerner charting experience required,
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral and PICC line management, starting/maintaining IVs, feeding tube care, heparin administration, and respiratory care including HFNC and nasal cannula,
• 2 supervisor references required,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,
Additional Information
• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including medication administration and line management,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Local candidates are not accepted for this unit,
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays,
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional requests require facility approval,
• Schedule requests and accommodations should be submitted at time of offer, as later requests are not guaranteed approval,
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler,
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
