These technologists are called in to cover shifts during staff shortages, high patient volumes, or employee absences, offering flexibility for both the employer and employee. PRN positions are common in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.

Is rad tech becoming oversaturated?

The demand for radiologic technologists, including PRN radiologic techs, remains steady due to ongoing healthcare needs and technological advancements. While some regions may experience increased competition, overall job growth is expected to be stable, especially for those with certifications and experience in imaging modalities like X-ray, CT, or MRI. Continuous skill development can help radiologic techs maintain employment opportunities despite market fluctuations.
