Private Swim Instructor

About the Opportunity:

Private Swim Instructors have the power to change lives. What you teach isn’t just about stroke technique, blowing bubbles or using a kickboard. It’s about building confidence, overcoming fears, and having fun while in the water. It’s about developing a skill that can not just change a life, but save it.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Teach private & semi-private lessons (children and adults)
  • Schedule private lessons directly with participants
  • Be a role model for water safety
  • Work with participants to set and achieve goals
  • Embrace and model the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Gratitude, Communication, The Golden Rule, and Ownership/Accountability

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience in swim coaching or teaching
  • Ability to follow an emergency action plan

Work Environment

Exposure to chlorinated water of varying temperatures, outdoor weather elements including high temperatures and bright sunlight, wind, light rain. Must be able to visionally see and hear swimmers and tolerate noise. Must be able to enter/exit pool using ladder and lift up to 50 lbs (and/or assist with lifting greater weights).
