Neuberger Private Equity is a leading private equity platform within Neuberger with over $100 billion of investor commitments. Neuberger Alternatives continues to grow rapidly and is actively investing. The Associate will work across the platform in the following complementary strategies:

  • Private Equity Fund Commitments: Conducting diligence on private equity funds within multiple asset classes, including buyouts, growth equity, venture and real assets

  • Direct Co-Investment: Conducting diligence on direct private equity investments by co-investing in private companies alongside premier financial sponsors

The position provides an opportunity to work across a leading private equity platform in the areas listed above in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with constant interaction with the most senior members of the team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and conducting comprehensive due diligence on potential primary fund investments and direct equity co-investment opportunities

  • Performing in-depth analysis of companies, industries and private equity portfolios

  • Assisting with the diligence and preparation of due diligence materials and investment committee memos

  • Monitoring and reporting on firm's existing investments through regular interaction with fund managers, attending annual meetings of private equity firms, reviewing quarterly financials and performing portfolio analysis

  • Supporting fund marketing and existing client requests

  • Conducting special projects including product development and asset allocation analyses

Experience & Skills Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent academic credentials (both undergraduate school and GPA)

  • Must have 2-3 years of top-tier investment banking or asset management program experience

  • Must be ranked near the top of peers with exceptional quantitative skills

  • Must have strong judgment, critical thinking and written skills; ability to articulate and present ideas effectively both orally and in written form

  • Must show initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving; demonstrated experience in conducting research and interacting with others to develop solutions

  • Must have ability to multi-task with a fine-tuned attention to detail

  • Must have team-player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $125,000-$135,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement, life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
