Role Overview

The Partnership Associate will support the identification, development, and management of strategic partnerships with fund managers, institutional investors, DFIs, and ecosystem stakeholders. This role is key to expanding CAMPEA’s network, enhancing member engagement, and supporting collaborative initiatives that advance private capital in Central Africa.

This voluntary, non-salaried role provides exposure to Central Africa’s private capital ecosystem, professional development in partnership management, and opportunities to engage with investors, fund managers, and policymakers. Team members gain hands‑on experience in building and managing strategic collaborations that support CAMPEA’s mission and influence market development.

Core Functions

The Partnership Associate will play a pivotal role in supporting CAMPEA’s strategic initiatives by managing and strengthening relationships with members, investors, and ecosystem partners. The candidate will support the execution of CAMPEA’s partnership strategy, ensuring effective engagement with institutional investors, fund managers, and strategic stakeholders while he/she drives collaborative initiatives by coordinating with members, partners, and investors to deliver high‑impact programmes and events. This role is central to building and maintaining strategic relationships that advance CAMPEA’s mission of strengthening Central Africa’s private capital ecosystem. Therefore the functions include the following:

  • Support the development and execution of partnership strategies aligned with CAMPEA’s mission and objectives.
  • Assist in identifying and onboarding corporate members, sponsors, and strategic partners.
  • Maintain relationships with fund managers, institutional investors, development finance institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Coordinate partnership agreements, deliverables, and reporting to ensure alignment with CAMPEA initiatives.
  • Support cross‑functional teams to leverage partnerships in events, research, and advocacy programmes.
  • Track partnership outcomes and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in donor or sponsor communications, including proposals, updates, and follow‑ups.
Skills/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, International Relations, or a related field.

1–3 years of experience in partnership management, business development, or stakeholder engagement, preferably in financial services or investment ecosystems.

  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives, sponsorship programmes, or corporate membership portfolios is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce professional reports, presentations, and correspondence.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.

Ability to manage multiple partnerships and coordinate with internal teams.

Understanding of private equity, venture capital, or investment markets in Africa is desirable but not a must.

Bilingual proficiency in English and French or Portuguese preferred.
