Job Summary

Lenanon Public Schools, serving approximately 950 students across three school buildings and two preschool locations, is seeking a hands-on Assistant Director of Dining Services to support the district's student nutrition program. This position plays a key role in daily operations, including ordering, inventory management, food costing, budgeting, and kitchen staff support for a team of frontline associates. The ideal candidate will bring a solid food service background, culinary knowledge, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

This role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact by helping lead and promote student-focused programs such as Mood Boost, Global Eats, Student Choice, and Discovery Kitchen. The Assistant Director will help create engaging dining experiences for students and staff. If you're a collaborative team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, building relationships, and bringing creativity and energy to school nutrition, we'd love to hear from you.

**This is a 10 month position**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Director and Frontline team in creating nutritious and top quality food.
  • Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with the client.
  • Manages, trains, and develops associates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of food service supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Financial experience and business acumen skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • Associate's degree is preferred, not mandatory.
