Job Duties

Contributes to the agency's public safety mission by serving as the manager of one or more housing units at a major correctional center. Collaborates with security, treatment, maintenance and support staff to ensure inmates receive effective reentry programming and services based on evidence-based principles (EBP) and practices. Oversees inmate classification, discipline, programs and services, security operations, audit compliance documentation, and building maintenance and sanitation for assigned unit(s). Supervises Lieutenants and Casework Counselors.

Minimum Qualifications

Extensive working knowledge of prison operations, policies, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships. Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver reports and presentations to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to make effective operational decisions.

Additional Considerations

Experience effectively communicating with all levels of institutional staff, inmates, and inmate family members. Working knowledge of security and treatment within an adult correctional setting. Working knowledge of evidence-based research and practices for prison operations. Working knowledge of reentry programs and services available to inmates. Experience supervising correctional staff.
