To thrive as a Prison Dental Assistant, you need formal dental assisting training or certification, knowledge of dental procedures, and familiarity with infection control protocols. Experience with dental practice management software, radiography equipment, and sterilization systems is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are important for working safely and effectively with incarcerated populations. Teamwork, adaptability, and a strong sense of professionalism are essential in this role.
