The Workday Prism Architect is the enterprise lead for all aspects of Workday Prism Analytics architecture, data modeling, pipeline development, and platform support. This role is responsible for designing scalable and secure Prism solutions that meet analytical, operational, and regulatory needs of the Institute across the Workday platform.  Working cross-functionally with reporting, integration, and application teams, the architect oversees the build and optimization of Prism data pipelines, sources, and models to enable real-time, trustworthy insights. The role requires deep technical expertise in Workday Prism, advanced understanding of Workday data structures, and strong data governance principles. The Workday Prism Architect will manage platform expansion, guide integration strategies, and support performance optimization while partnering with business stakeholders to align Prism capabilities with reporting and analytics priorities. This role also plays a key role in enabling user adoption, standardizing development processes, and driving innovation in the Workday reporting strategy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design, build, and support of Workday Prism Analytics including data pipelines, transformation logic, security configuration, and data modeling to meet enterprise reporting and operational needs.
  • Define and implement scalable Prism architecture by establishing best practices, optimizing performance, and ensuring extensibility of datasets and objects across functional domains.
  • Develop and manage secure, governed data pipelines from both Workday core and external sources, ensuring integrity, quality, and availability of data used in Prism reporting.
  • Collaborate with data governance, reporting, integration, and functional teams to align Prism development with business objectives, reporting strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Support Prism-related integrations and ETL processes by coordinating with technical teams, managing data ingestion patterns, and ensuring synchronization between Prism and Workday core.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Prism performance and usage, providing Tier 2/3 support, resolving defects, and guiding post-release enhancements and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Enable analytics adoption and capability maturity by mentoring developers, delivering technical documentation, and establishing development standards and reusable design patterns for the enterprise.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep expertise in Workday Prism Analytics, including data pipelines, objects, datasets, transformations, and security configuration.
  • Strong understanding of Workday report writing, calculated fields, and core Workday data structures (HCM and/or Finance).
  • Proficiency in designing performant, reusable, and scalable data models that meet analytical and operational reporting needs.
  • Ability to translate business and reporting requirements into technical specifications for data modeling and pipeline development.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, and data quality assurance practices.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner with business and technical stakeholders across teams.
  • Ability to mentor technical staff and establishing architecture standards, templates, and development best practices.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of experience with Workday technology, including 2 years of hands-on experience designing and building Workday Prism Analytics solutions.
  • Proven experience with data modeling, ETL, and large-scale reporting architecture in enterprise systems.
  • Experience working with external data ingestion into Workday and blending core Workday data with non-Workday data using Prism.
  • Familiarity with Workday security frameworks as they relate to Prism datasets and access control.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting strategies in collaboration with HRIS, Financial Systems, or Supply Chain Systems teams.
  • Background in data governance, data architecture, or analytics platform design is highly preferred.
  • Workday certifications in Prism and other reporting-related areas strongly preferred.
