Job description

JOB TITLE: Avionics Test Engineer
LOCATION: Tustin, CA
PAY RATE: $75/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (3 - 6 months with potential for extension)

Qualifying Questions:

  • Are you a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance?

  • Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role?

  • Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary?

Responsibilities:

  • Develop hardware-in-the-loop test equipment

  • Troubleshoot test failures

  • Support testing of Avionics systems and components across hardware and software including environmental qualification.

  • Write test plans and procedures

  • Document design issues and work with engineering teams to resolve

  • Support avionics production

  • Execute system checkouts on the integrated vehicle

  • Provide delegate Functional Leadership as required

  • Work collaboratively to achieve goals and/or complete assigned tasks 

 Requirements:

  • Must have a B.Sc. Engineering degree from an accredited university

  • Experience with component and system-level testing

  • Experience developing test benches

  • Experience documenting wiring schematics

  • LabVIEW and/or Python development skills

  • Experience with NI Veristand a plus

  • Experience with Environmental/Electrical Qualification standards such as RTCA-DO160, Mil-STD 461

  • 8 or more years of relevant integration and testing experience in aerospace or similar field

  • Experience with embedded system hardware and software

  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and written communication skills

  • Experience with leading and mentoring Junior Engineers

  • Demonstrate willingness to adjust thinking and behavior. 

  • Ability to communicate in a manner that is timely, respectful, and open to other ideas
