Clinical Laboratory Technician

Building Name: CVPH - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Location Address: 75 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh New York Regular Department: CVPH - Core Lab, Blood Bank & Donor Center Full Time Standard Hours: 40 Biweekly Scheduled Hours: 80 Shift: Evening Primary Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM Weekend Needs: As Scheduled Salary Range: Min $27.44 Mid $33.62 Max $39.79 Recruiter: Katie Dubrey

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.

Primary Shift: 12:00pm-8:30pm

Secondary Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm

General Summary:

Assists the Operations & Systems Manager in achieving efficient Laboratory operation by performing clinical tests. Supports laboratory testing services by performing specimen collection and processing, quality control and maintenance functions, and results reporting and verification. Participates in training and in-service programs to maintain and upgrade competency at the level required by the Supervisor as procedures are changed or added.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills Required: 1. Licensed or eligible (application pending with a limited license in effect) as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York. 2. Employees with a limited license must obtain full license within New York State guidelines. 3. Upon 5 years of experience as a Medical Lab Technician and upon meeting qualifying criteria, the Medical Lab Technician may move to the Medical Laboratory Technician II level. 4. Microbiology experience required. However, if no qualified candidate with Microbiology experience, then others will be considered.

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.

This is a bargaining union position.
