Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide administrative and clinical support to the providers and other healthcare professionals within the clinic, maintaining smooth patient flow and delivery of quality patient care. Responsible for various duties including a primary focus on prior authorizations and prescription refill delegation per policy. Additional duties include performing basic medical procedures, managing medical records and coordinating administrative tasks. Hybrid remote option is a consideration for the right candidate.
The major duties which are regularly performed and normally assigned to the position:
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications, DME, and occasionally outpatient testing
  • Work closely with providers and the clinical team to ensure accurate documentation for PA submission
  • Track and follow-up on authorization status to support timely patient care
  • Utilize both internal and external platforms to process authorizations
  • Support patient care through engagement with other members of the patient's care team. Communicates with external parties such as pharmacies, insurance carriers, and community agencies. Completes forms and other paperwork as needed.
  • Ensures professional, accurate, current, and comprehensive documentation with proper spelling and grammar within the medical record. Handles the release of health information per policy.
  • Keep patients' safety as top priority.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule and location, based on the needs of the organization.
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current LPN License (State Applicable) or Active Medical Assistant Certification

Experience
  • Previous experience as an LPN or CMA in a physician office preferred
