Job description

We ae seeking an experienced Senior Prepress Operator to help maximize the efficiency, quality, and capabilities of our prepress department.

This is a hands-on leadership position for a highly skilled prepress professional with comprehensive knowledge of offset printing, small format digital printing, large format digital printing, and bindery applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to train and mentor team members while maintaining a high standard of production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in daily prepress production, helping ensure accuracy and a continuous, efficient workflow throughout the department.
  • Preflight client supplied files, identify and resolve potential production issues, and ensure files are print ready.
  • Maintain brand color integrity through proper color management and production processes.
  • Manage color calibration throughout digital and offset presses.
  • Create accurate mockups, proofs, and go-by samples to ensure the outcome.
  • Perform impositioning for various printing, finishing and bindery requirements.
  • Collaborate with pressman and bindery operator on specialty projects.
  • Operate and maintain knowledge of plating systems, including the ability to run plates.
  • Setup files for CNC cutting.
  • Operate digital machinery when needed (sheet fed and roll fed digital).
  • Help establish and maintain efficient prepress procedures, standards and best practices
  • Collaboratively work with CSR and production management.
  • Maintain tidiness of work area, including keeping computers and printing equipment clean and in good repair

Qualifications

  • Extensive professional experience in commercial printing and prepress.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Comprehensive understanding of prepress requirements for offset, digital, and large-format printing and bindery applications.
  • Strong understanding of color management, including spot colors, process color, and maintaining brand color accuracy. G7 certification is a strong plus.
  • Advanced experience with file pre-flighting and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of imposition and print/bindery requirements.
  • Experience with CTP/plating systems and plate production.
  • Experience operating digital presses and CNC cutting equipment is highly valued.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to lead, train, and develop others.

Hours: 7:30-4:30 pm M-F

Vacation, Paid Holidays and Benefits

Overtime as needed on nights and weekends.
