Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide assistance and support to the production teams. ย Members will be involved in equipment preparation, plate mounting and ink mixing. The purpose is to provide assistance, supplies and services to all production equipment in order to reduce makeready and increase manufacturing efficiencies.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Responsible for receiving and distributing ink or other coatings used in manufacturing.
  2. Compare color of printing ink with sample to ensure adherence to formula or customer specifications.ย 
  3. Check samples of new ink or coatings characteristics such as color, viscosity, drying time, density, etc.ย  to ensure it is within tolerances for machinery and finished product.ย 
  4. Recycle and re-use ink by blending matches when possible.ย 
  5. Order inks, coatings, adhesives or any other special materials for jobs.
  6. Mount flexo plates on cylinders.ย 
  7. Prepare anilox rollers for job.ย 
  8. Clean anilox rollers.ย 
  9. Mount gears and handles to plate cylinders or anilox rollers.
  10. Scope anilox rollers to determine size and condition.ย 
  11. Inventory molded plates and order new ones if and when needed.
  12. Prepare rollers or cylinders to be shipped out for recondition when needed.
  13. All other duties as assigned
  14. Responsible for training and supporting new and existing team members.

  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  • Must have strong mechanical background
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments.
  • Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs.
  • Team member must work in a team environment with minimum supervision, cooperate and work with others, share information and take the initiative to improve the process and solve problems.ย

**CLIMATE CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT**

Theย salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $19.50 - $31.00 / hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs.ย Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include ย overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
