This program includes establishing measurable objectives for product safety and quality, along with employee training and development programs.

Role Summary: The Printing Press Operator sets up, operates, monitors, and troubleshoots printing presses to produce printed materials according to job specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role is responsible for press makeโ€‘ready, ink and substrate adjustments, routine maintenance, and documentation, while working as part of a production team in a fastโ€‘paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Set up and operate the Heidelberg Printing Presses according to training provided and according to operating instructions provided by equipment manufacturer.
  • Supervise the Printing Press Feeder and Aerator Operator.
  • Set up and run the printing press, applying ink and coatings to the sheeted product according to the specified instructions in the job ticket and according to the proof and/or color swatches signed by the customer.
  • Ensure that all nonconforming products are identified and segregated (if possible).
  • Follow best practices for ensuring the best possible quality product.
  • Measure sheeted product (thickness and sheet size) to verify that product meets specifications.
  • Verify that the board grade and grain direction meets the specifications.
  • Record production and material consumption in Amtech and on appropriate paperwork.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the machine.
  • Other assigned duties.
  • NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Occasionally assist in taking roll stock, WIP and sheeted stock inventory.
  • Participate in Safety Committee.
  • Participate in the HACCP Team, if requested.
  • Safety Policies and Practices:
  • Follow all company safety policies, including machine guarding, PPE (personal protective equipment), lockout/tagout, and safe lifting practices.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, and Hygiene procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Keep work area clean and organized: remove scrap, sweep, and maintain clear walkways in accordance with housekeeping standards.
  • Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) typically required.
  • 3+ years of experience operating industrial printing press equipment in a printing, packaging, or converting environment preferred.
  • Attention to detail including documenting and communicating actions taken
  • Must be mechanically inclined and have experience.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8โ€‘ to 12โ€‘hour shift.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull materials and products up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed..
  • Schedule:
  • Full time position 24/6 Production
  • Overtime and weekends based on production needs.
  • Salary: $38.00 - $44.00 per hour
