Role: IT lab support consultants
Location: Piscataway, NJ 100% Onsite
Contract

IT Lab Support Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for laboratory and quality systems, including LIMS, ELN, CDS, SDMS, laboratory instruments, workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Experience supporting Manufacturing, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Research & Development (R&D) environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system connectivity issues to minimize laboratory downtime and maintain operational continuity.
  • Experience supporting laboratory instruments such as HPLC, Dissolution, UV, FTIR, and other analytical equipment.
  • Support Windows operating systems, Active Directory, user account administration, security groups, and access management.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade laboratory computers, servers, software applications, and network-connected devices.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure, Network, Cybersecurity, and Application Support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Manage incident, problem, and change requests through the IT Service Management (ITSM) process.
  • Perform system monitoring, backup verification, disaster recovery testing, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Support laboratory instrument integrations with enterprise systems, databases, and network infrastructure.
  • Assist with IT asset management, software licensing, equipment lifecycle planning, and vendor coordination.
  • Provide after-hours and on-call support for critical laboratory and manufacturing systems as required.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, system diagrams, and support procedures.
  • Support audits and inspections by providing system documentation, access reports, backup records, and validation evidence.
  • Train end users on IT systems, security awareness, and best practices to improve system utilization and reduce support incidents.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, TCP/IP, VLANs, wireless infrastructure, and server administration.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, cybersecurity tools, and enterprise backup solutions.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or other IT ticketing systems.
