Job description

Production Technician (Laser, Digital Imaging, Pad Pring) - Day Shift 8:00am - 4:30pm - Company paid Benefits and PTO!
The Production Technician contributes to the overall success of Corkcicle by producing high quality printed and etched custom designs and logos on drinkware products for our customers. They will be responsible for maintaining and operating Digital Systems and Laser engraving equipment while maintaining safety, quality and efficient production processes. This position is based in Lawrenceville, GA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up and operate and cross-train in high-volume Digital Systems and Laser engraving machine to produce high quality products. Product materials include metal and glass.
  • Read work orders and perform work as assigned by supervisor.
  • Measure and verify that print or engraving is correct to work order mockup.
  • Troubleshoot printing issues associated with Digital printing and laser engraving process including mis-registration, adhesion issues, image opacity, blurs, rough spots, irregular engraving, etc. Responsible for detecting defects during production.
  • Blend inks, catalysts and other additives to specifications to ensure proper ink color match and chemistry is developed and maintained throughout the print run.
  • Load and arrange all print and engraving artwork through Adobe Illustrator.
  • Change printing plates, transfer pads, etc., as needed to maintain an image that meets the requirements of the process.
  • Assemble disassemble ink cups, clean all equipment and tools related to the Pad Printing process.
  • Examine and assume responsibility for work orders in order to meet production requirements/quality /details.
  • Inspect and examine the images for clarity, accuracy to artwork, conformance to specifications, etc.
  • Recommend process improvements and work with management to implement approved changes.
  • Responsible for general machine cleaning and maintenance.
  • Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
  • Participate in training workshops, as requested, to keep up to date on the latest Digital and Laser engraving technologies and materials.
  • Cross-train in Warehouse tasks and fill in when needed (lifting, packing, arranging, shipping product).
  • Achieve position and departmental objectives outlined throughout the year.
  • Reports to the Print Production Manager, no direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of printing experience preferred.
  • Computer skills are required (Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator – must be proficient in these programs).
  • Experience in industrial printing and etching backgrounds is preferred.
  • Ability to be trained on all equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to manage high volume production with high accuracy.
  • Ability to learn, reference and retain product specific information as it pertains to the position.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, such as: ink formulation, machine set up and adjustment, Quality Work Instructions, etc.
  • Ability to operate digitally controlled Digital and Laser engraving systems.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high volume production setting.
  • Detail oriented, good communication skills and a “can do” attitude.
  • Must have reliable transportation to report to work timely.
  • Ability to work within the core hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional needs to work overtime, outside of core hours / weekdays.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / FLSA STATUS
  • Indoor, production environment that is safe, clean and uses state-of-the-art equipment.
  • The production noise level is moderate.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time while simultaneously working on Laser, Digital and Pad Printing machines. Must be able to lift / and or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Full-time/Non-Exempt (Hourly).
