Job description

Overview

Job Title: Print Technician - Laser Operator
Location: La Prairie, Quebec
Job Type: Hourly Consultant
Hours: Evening, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM

ROLE

Under the supervision of the Production Director, the incumbent is responsible for laser print production and associated quality control. They are also responsible for ensuring a clear understanding of all job requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate multiple laser presses (Xerox Nuvera, Versant, Iridesse or equivalent)
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly and perform basic daily maintenance
  • Set up production jobs (job setup)
  • Troubleshoot minor issues related to paper, toner, or equipment
  • Work closely with Xerox technicians
  • Act as a liaison with programmers for technical matters
  • Perform approvals (multiple steps) and testing in collaboration with Customer Service
  • Execute production according to established priorities and report any irregularities
  • Manage materials required for printing (tests, samples, production runs)
  • Maintain print quality at all times
  • Keep work area and equipment clean to ensure optimal print quality
  • Provide support across shifts and remain available for emergencies and overtime
  • Assist other departments during downtime (e.g., inserter operator) and perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or plant manager

TRAINING

Training will be provided on-site during the day shift.

REQUIREMENTS

Prerequisites

  • High school diploma (required)
  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in reprography or a related field (asset)

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role
  • Successful completion of internal operator training program (if applicable)
  • Knowledge of digital laser printing equipment (asset)

Skills

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, focus, and observational skills
