Are you an experienced Electrical, Software or Test Design Engineer looking for the next step to grow your career? Do you want to design and develop test solutions and write test software that is mission critical and be a part of a greater cause? Then, help us protect those that protect us by developing the Next Generation Electronic Warfare, Communication and Navigation Systems Products and Solutions. We need your talent, motivation, and vision to join our New Jersey based team. BAE Systems has recently been awarded new programs and is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth that requires rapid development and delivery of critical capabilities to our warfighters.
BAE Systems is searching for test engineers with experience in developing automated test software solutions. The ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter, able to complete assignments with little oversight while being available as a subject matter expert and technical lead to their team. They must be able to assume a full or partial lead role as circumstances dictate and be able to quickly and dynamically switch focus to accommodate the daily activities of an engineering team supporting a production environment. This individual should be comfortable providing accurate technical status to program management or direction to individual contributors as part of their job function, as well as interfacing with other engineering disciplines as necessary.
The ideal candidate would be experienced in:
  • Automated test equipment development and integration
    • Developing test software according to best coding standards using proprietary NI Test Stand libraries and executives as part of a development community of practice.
    • Developing test hardware according to BAE and industry standards
  • Test solution development life cycle which consists of requirements review, test plan creation, design reviews, coding, integration of test SW with test stands, and sell-off to customers.
  • Test solution software and hardware integration, debug & troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing automated test solutions for electronic assemblies in a production factory environment
  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.
  • This role will involve a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work and will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and 8+ years related work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Proficient in developing and integrating automation test measurement software for a production environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 6+ year of experience
  • Proficient in National Instruments Test Stand
  • Familiarity with RF test measurement methodology and development with experience automating at least one of the following:
    • S-Parameter measurements
    • Spectral Measurements
    • Power Measurements
    • RF Stimulus
  • Familiarity implementing digital communication protocols with experience automating at least one of the following:
    • MLVDS
    • RS232/485/422
    • PCI/PCIe
    • JTAG
    • SPI, I2C
  • Familiarity with C, C++, C#, VB, Python Keysight Network Analyzers (PNA-X) and Signal/Spectrum Analyzers (MXA, PSA, CXA)
  • PXI based instrumentation
  • Experience with National Instruments FlexRIO (LabVIEW FPGA/VHDL/Verilog a plus)
  • JTAG/Boundary project development in an ATE solution
  • Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $145049 - $246584
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
