Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, guide, and/or execute multiple design projects across organization.
  • Prepare and/or review sketches/layouts to be implemented by others.
  • Provide complete design and drawing packages for custom tooling and production gages.
  • Check drawings for correctness and compliance with ASME Y14.5
  • Provide guidance to technical staff & customers in the development of technical documentation to applicable industry standards.
  • Proactively work with internal and external teammates to ensure the technical compliance of designs and all internal and customer design requirements are satisfied.
  • Develop long term project plans, proposals, and coordinate technical work across organization.
  • Ensure staff has appropriate skills and necessary training to complete assigned work. Recommend modifications to Sr. Management and see to the implementation of appropriate technical training.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on related industry best practices and technological advancements.
  • Conceives, plans, and develops new technical methods or approaches as warranted by advancements in state-of-the-art technology.
  • Mentor staff in areas of design, manufacturing, program execution, and technical communication.
  • Independently develop design briefings and outlines for use by self or others.
  • Attend and/or lead internal or customer technical interchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in tool and gage design.
  • ASME Y14.5 mastery.
  • ASME Y14.43 mastery.
  • ASME Y14.100 and associated drafting specifications mastery.
  • Deep understanding of DoD design process and project structure.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret DoD clearance.
Preferred:
  • AS or Engineering Technology degree from an accredited school
  • ASME Y14.5 Technologist or Sr. Certification
  • Creo and/or SolidWorks proficiency
  • 3D CAD mastery
Other Requirements:
  • Travel:Up to 10% of total time to support customer locations.
  • Work Environment:Office work environment
