Job description

About the Role

Pagaya sits at the intersection of lenders, consumers, and institutional investors in the consumer credit ecosystem. We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to drive the next phase of our platform expansion. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end product strategy and development required to scale our white-label network across new and existing enterprise partners.

As a Principal Product Manager, you will serve as a strategic thought partner to executive leadership while maintaining hands-on execution. You will tackle complex technical challenges-from architecting seamless platform integrations and robust API developer ecosystems to scaling core underwriting engine infrastructure. This is a high-visibility, individual contributor role where your strategic vision and technical execution will directly influence Pagaya's growth trajectory.

ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Product Strategy & Development
  • Define Product Vision: Drive the multi-year product strategy for Pagaya's core lending network, aligning business growth objectives with scalable technology solutions.
  • Full-Lifecycle Ownership: Own products from zero-to-one conceptualization through technical spec development, launch, and continuous post-launch optimization.
  • Portfolio Scaling: Balance immediate revenue-driving partner feature requests against long-term core platform architectural investments.
Platform Integrations & API Development
  • Enterprise API Strategy: Lead the product development of high-throughput, low-latency APIs and developer tooling that enable frictionless enterprise integration for banks, fintechs, and point-of-sale partners.
  • Seamless Partner Onboarding: Design scalable integration frameworks that dramatically reduce partner onboarding timelines, standardize data exchange, and streamline partner configuration.
  • Developer Experience & Tooling: Establish robust documentation, sandboxes, and integration tooling to ensure Pagaya's platform remains the preferred integration choice for institutional financial partners.
Core Product Development & Platform Infrastructure
  • Core Engine Scalability: Partner deeply with Engineering and Data Science to enhance Pagaya's core underwriting, decisioning, and capital allocation platforms as transaction volume scales across the business.
  • Productization of AI/ML Models: Translate complex machine learning models and credit decisioning workflows into scalable, resilient product features.
  • Enterprise Reliability: Ensure core systems meet rigorous performance, uptime, data security, and compliance standards necessary for enterprise banking environments.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Partner Impact
  • Executive Alignment: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Capital Markets, translating technical trade-offs into business decisions.
  • Partner Collaboration: Work alongside Growth and Partnerships to engage with key banking and fintech partners, transforming market feedback into platform capabilities.
  • Product Excellence: Elevate product management standards across the organization, refining product operations frameworks, and championing a data-driven execution culture.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive product management experience, with a focus on fintech, high-growth B2B enterprise platforms, or consumer credit ecosystems.
  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrated track record in API development, enterprise platform integrations, and developer-facing software products. Familiarity with lending, banking rails, or credit risk systems is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Depth: Exceptional technical fluency. Ability to converse seamlessly with systems architects, data scientists, and engineering leaders regarding API design, platform scalability, and machine learning infrastructure.
  • Strategic Execution: Proven history of operating as a high-impact strategic individual contributor-able to write crisp PRDs, define clear system architectures, and lead cross-functional delivery teams without direct authority.
  • Analytical Mindset: Rigorous, data-driven approach to prioritization, success metrics, performance tracking, and continuous product iteration.
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent executive presence with the ability to articulate complex technical and financial concepts to internal executives and external partner stakeholders.
