Sr Principal Network Engineer
Location: Aurora, Colorado (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview
Seeking a Senior Principal Network Engineer in Aurora, CO. In this role, the successful candidate will design and plan network communication systems and provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot and isolate network faults and failures in a LAN/WAN environment and provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and plan network communication systems.
  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate network faults and failures in a LAN/WAN environment.
  • Provide detailed information for hardware and software selections.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance network capabilities.
  • Work within a group or independently where collaboration and attention to detail is critical.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience, a Master's degree with 6+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years. 12+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Security+ certification is required.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 20%.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Wide Area Networks.
  • Experience with designing additions to a large network.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Firewall hardware and software knowledge, including administration, management, and modifications.
  • CISCO Router and Switches hardware and software knowledge.
  • COMSEC equipment knowledge.
  • Linux and Windows knowledge.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00/hr - $140.00/hr.
