Job description

Principal Financial Consultant, OpCo Finance

Position Summary:

Involved in all aspects of financial analysis for the Operating Company (OpCo) focused on the development and execution of long-term financial strategies. Perform independently, and provide financial analysis on budget, forecast, and prior year to drive results. Notably, on the effectiveness of cost recovery strategies through rate cases and other regulatory filings. Prepare presentations for Senior Leadership and be able to communicate results effectively. Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to drive financial results.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the financial analyst of the OpCo to deliver financial results. Develop financial plans for the OpCo, including forecast and budget inputs to the corporate financial model. Provide analysis of actual results to forecasted and budgeted O&M, capital, and other financial drivers. Partner with Corporate Finance, OpCo and Business Area leadership to drive results.
  • Recommend financial plans and cost recovery strategies over the short and long term to deliver financial results. Ensure strategies support corporate short and long-term plans.
  • Oversee and manage the tracking and reporting for OpCo rider and performance incentive mechanisms.
  • Partner with Leadership on OpCo regulatory filings, with focus on the financial aspects including review of testimony, data request responses, and participation in settlement negotiations. Review the accuracy of financial filings.
  • Lead complex projects and financial evaluations. Implements process improvements and business solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective data sharing.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
  • Eight or more years’ experience in general financial planning and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of revenue requirements including their business and operational implications.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated skills in analysis, financial and economic modeling, financial process controls and problem solving.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team and to interface with all levels of management.
