Job description

Sr. Principal Engineer
Our client is internationally recognized due to their commitment to and delivery of quality products to consumers. We are currently seeking a key individual for the role of Sr Principal Engineer. As the Sr Principal Engineer your focus will coordination and collaboration with Research and Development and Operations management teams to drive continuous improvement and enhance processes from pilot plant to full scale start-up and commercialization. You will also be tasked to provide key strategic vision for future sustainability and the development of bench strength for the overall engineering function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
โ€ข Develop deep expertise in all processing operations to drive effective troubleshooting, robust process design, effective training, and reliable operations.
โ€ข Drive knowledge transfer and development of more junior engineers through engagement in rigorous root cause analyses, process optimization exercises, and startup activities.
โ€ข Establish processing standards to be used for current and future operations.
โ€ข Design processing systems and set equipment specifications to deliver desired performance for commercial manufacturing of new products.
โ€ข Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies. Provide recommended solutions to address these issues.
โ€ข Improve processes to reduce costs, reduce variation, and enhance quality to meet customer expectations.
โ€ข Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
โ€ข Build a network of internal and external experts to stay abreast of new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
โ€ข Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
โ€ข Maintain effective communication with all people involved with or affected by assigned responsibilities.
โ€ข Ensure manufacturing processes comply with all government laws and regulations.
โ€ข Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and helping improve the safety culture.
โ€ข All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
โ€ข BS in Engineering required; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
โ€ข Minimum 10 years in Aseptic Processing.
โ€ข Strong hands-on knowledge of processing equipment and instrumentation.
โ€ข Experience managing people and projects preferred.
โ€ข Ability to work hours as necessary to be successful and travel up to 50% as needed out of state.
โ€ข Experience in a food-grade environment (FDA, GMP's, HACCP).
