Job description

Job Responsibilities
Position: Principal Engineer, Business Intelligence, Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc., 17955 Great Lakes Parkway, Hiram, OH 44234
Duties: Lead strategic requirement gathering and solution architecture sessions with business stakeholders and senior leadership to strategically develop the BI roadmap and ensure alignment with corporate objectives. Govern the design of cutting-edge, complex data visualizations and dashboards (e.g., using Business Objects/SAC) to enable executive decision-making and provide a strategic view of business performance. Own and manage the security model and governance framework for the Business Objects environment, ensuring data integrity and adherence to organizational policies. Design, develop, and optimize advanced ETL/ELT data pipelines across complex, heterogeneous source systems. Develop solutions for modern data flow migration and performance tuning across various BW landscapes. Proactively assess and lead initiatives for continuous improvement, setting standards for data loading efficiencies and overall environment optimization to ensure scalability and high availability. Ability to perform cutover and administrative activities on SAP BW application during Go-Live and System upgrades. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in BI systems, independently analyzing the strategic impact of major application releases (e.g., SAP upgrades) and developing comprehensive mitigation and adoption strategies for the corporation. Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior analysts and engineers, and develop comprehensive training programs that drive enterprise-wide self-service BI adoption.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related field. Must have: 6 years of experience in architecting and implementing large-scale SAP BW/BI solutions within a corporate environment; 6 years of experience with SAP data warehousing concepts, including advanced proficiency in Eclipse modeling, ADSO, Composite Providers, and the migration of data flows (e.g., BW to BW/4HANA readiness); 6 years of experience leading the full lifecycle of complex BI projects, including strategic planning, detailed design, deployment, and post-implementation governance; 3 years of experience with SAP ECC/S/4HANA functional modules, specifically in the context of extracting, transforming, and modeling data for strategic reporting purposes; 3 years of experience in data analysis using native SQL or Python; 3 years of experience in System administration and Upgrade activities and Pre and Post Cutover activities; 1 year of experience using HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, Data Intelligence, and Data Science statistical models; 1 year of experience leading full lifecycle BW/4HANA implementation projects; 1 year experience leading major cloud migration initiatives (e.g., to SAP Analytics Cloud, Azure, or AWS).
