Sr. Principal Engineer - Wet
The Sr. Principal Engineer role leads the R&D delivery of high stakes and complex projects for the Wet Technology Platform. It provides technical leadership, extensive knowledge and technical expertise of scientific disciplines to support R&D, Q&FS, SRA and TLT Functions.
What are we looking for?
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in food science/technology, engineering or relevant field
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in similar role (Pet industry preferred)
  • In-depth technical knowledge regarding Wet technology, including Product Design, Process, and Formulation.
  • Experience in capturing & leveraging knowledge, as well as functional capability building for R&D
  • Strong track record of driving results, collaborating and influencing without authority a variety of stakeholder

What would your key responsibilities be?
Leads the R&D team in high complexity technical projects (IE. Introduction of new technology, deployment of transformational innovation, deployment and continuous improvement of technical standards, significantly novel raw materials, critical site troubleshooting, etc.)
Leads translation of technology ideas into visual, physical models & working prototypes, in collaboration & alignment with AOE teams.
Provides extensive knowledge on wet relevant food science principles & unit operations within manufacturing.
Provides technical expertise in test plan development, experimental setup, test execution and data analysis to quantify key product attributes, process and packaging machine parameters and fundamental mechanisms at both pilot and factory scale.
Drives knowledge management & functional capability building for Wet R&D.
Collaborates with Supply-Engineering to assist in the management of scale-up risk and introduction of new technologies into the NA supply chain.
Scans and delivers IP opportunities in established space as well as greenfield opportunities.
Performs role of SPOC (single point of contact) for NA technical inputs on capital needs for the NA based innovation center (TNT)
