Trideum is seeking a Principal Application Engineer for a hands-on, deployment-focused role responsible for translating customer requirements into executable manufacturing processes, validating machine performance in real applications, and supporting commissioning, process maturity, and customer success. This role is the technical lead for CAD/CAM translation, toolpath and process validation, machine/application setup, and production-readiness for wiring harness and related advanced manufacturing use cases.
In this role, you will support our partner Molrix by assisting the technical application and process validation, while supporting installation and commissioning of Molrix systems. You will translate customer designs and mission requirements into executable manufacturing workflows, establish repeatable production outcomes, and mature first-of-kind applications into deployable, production-ready capability.
What You'll Do
  • Application Execution & Deployment Ownership
    • Serve as the technical lead for customer application execution, including process setup, machine workflow validation, and production-readiness.
    • Translate customer, partner, and internal requirements into executable manufacturing workflows, machine instructions, and technical application parameters.
    • Act as the primary technical interface with software, controls, and hardware suppliers for application requirements, troubleshooting, and process validation.
    • Develop, test, and validate application-specific manufacturing processes and workflows for target use cases.
    • Identify gaps between intended process outcomes and actual machine performance, and drive corrective technical actions across process, hardware, software, tooling, or data.
    • Support system installation, commissioning, calibration, and technical acceptance for deployed applications.
    • Assess technical feasibility, process risk, and deployment requirements for pilots, proposals, and customer opportunities
  • Digital Manufacturing Data & Toolpath Ownership
    • Own translation of customer CAD and design intent into manufacturing-ready machine data.
    • Create, modify, and validate models, routings, toolpaths, and build definitions in Siemens NX.
    • Develop and maintain part programs, post-processed files, and build packages for supported applications.
    • Maintain configuration control across CAD, CAM, tooling, process parameters, inspection criteria, and technical records.
    • Ensure traceability from design through machine execution, inspection, and digital build record.
    • Support repeatable digital workflows for new harness designs, machine configurations, and customer-specific variants.
  • Process Validation, Technical Standards & Customer Enablement
    • Own process validation and maturity uplift for harness manufacturing workflows across development, pilot, and early production environments.
    • Define process capability metrics, repeatability evidence, acceptance criteria, and technical performance baselines.
    • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, application notes, and operator reference materials.
    • Deliver technical training for customer engineers, operators, and maintainers tailored to deployed use cases.
    • Support inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and nonconformance resolution for manufactured outputs.
    • Ensure outputs meet customer-defined form, fit, function, quality, and repeatability requirements.
    • Document lessons learned and standardize successful workflows for reuse across future deployments.
  • Travel: 25% Continental US, 5% Overseas. Must possess, or obtain within 30 days from hire, a valid U.S. Passport if OCONUS travel is required.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience translating designs into executable manufacturing processes.
  • Experience commissioning, validating, or supporting advanced manufacturing or robotic equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot across machine hardware, process setup, manufacturing data, and software interfaces.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications
  • Siemens NX Certification (CAD or Manufacturing).
  • Experience with Teamcenter or equivalent PLM systems.
  • Experience with wiring harness manufacturing, routing, connectorization, or EWIS-related production processes.
  • Experience with robotic deposition, automated assembly, CNC, or multi-axis manufacturing systems.
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or government programs.
