Job description

Prime, Inc. is looking for a dedicated, motivated tow truck driver to driver a tow truck to move trucks and trailers damaged by accident, stalled, or ticketed by police for traffic violation by performing the following duties:

  • Receives call or is dispatched to location by supervisor.
  • Attaches anti-sway bar to vehicle by means of cable, chains, or other grappling devices to tow vehicle to repair shop, Prime Inc. terminal, or other location as designated.
  • Makes minor repairs to tractors along highway such as replacing batteries and light bulbs, and connecting loose wires.
  • Removes, bends, or cuts parts of damaged vehicles preparatory to towing.
  • Abides motor vehicle regulations and insurance laws.

Shift needed:

Full time position Wednesday through Saturday 


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge

Truck driving experience is a requirement. Knowledge of safety rules and regulations is beneficial. Must be customer service and goal oriented, self-motivated, possess initiative and need minimal supervision.

Abilities

Must have a strong work history. Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends required. This position does require an occasional overnight trip.

Experience, Education, and Training

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Towing experience is preferred, but will train.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and driving. Frequent crouching, stooping, grasping, bending, two hand control and side reaching is required.

Working Environment

Both indoor and outdoor working environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Licensing/Certification

Must have a valid CDL A license with current medical card; and also a satisfactory CSA score. Further driver qualifications to be discussed upon offer.

Miscellaneous Requirements

A clear accident record the last three years and free of moving violations is a requirement. Candidate must also be able to pass a DOT physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
