Job Type: Part-Time Contract
Schedule: Minimum 30 hours per month, including Sunday mornings and occasional evenings or weekends

Position Summary

GDR Defense is seeking a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to support the 45th Space Launch Delta Chaplain Corps at Patrick Space Force Base. The coordinator will manage Catholic religious education programs for children in grades K–12 and adults, including sacramental preparation, volunteer coordination, curriculum planning and program administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate weekly religious education and sacramental-preparation classes.
  • Recruit, train and supervise volunteer catechists and substitutes.
  • Develop annual calendars, curricula and program budgets.
  • Maintain attendance, enrollment, volunteer and program records.
  • Coordinate Vacation Bible School, Christmas programs and other Catholic events.
  • Prepare newsletters, announcements, flyers and calendars.
  • Manage supplies, funding requests and classroom resources.
  • Attend required chapel, pastoral and planning meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with Catholic, military, safety and child-protection requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, verified by a priest’s letter.
  • Approved catechist with the Archdiocese for the Military Services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of relevant religious education, teaching, ministry, administration or program-coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of Catholic teachings, liturgical practices and sacramental preparation.
  • Strong communication, organization and customer-service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and virtual-meeting platforms.
  • Ability to pass required background, child-care suitability, security and base-access checks.
  • Availability for Sunday mornings and occasional evening, weekend and holiday programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in theology, religious studies or religious education.
  • Experience leading a parish or military religious education program.
  • Experience managing volunteers, budgets and large faith-formation events.
