Job description

Position Title: Parts Kitter

Target Experience: Entry Level, training provided

Department: Assembly Kitting

Location: Trafford, PA

About Us

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products.  The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications.

All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing.

Your Goal

The Assembly Parts Kitter at Cleaveland/Price plays a pivotal role in the efficient operation of our Assembly department. This role is responsible for pulling the correct numer of parts from various locations throughout the facility creating “kits” to provide to the different departments in Assembly department.  They will aid in inventory control, quality, and production time adherence. The Assembly Parts Kitter will coordinate with the Assembly management team to pull parts for jobs in order of priority, while also adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Your Responsibilities

  • · Ascend/descend various stair and ladder systems to obtain parts.

    · Accurately count parts and document pulling them from stock location.

    · Organize parts on carts or pallets and ensure safe delivery for all areas of assembly.

    · Verify similar looking parts in order to accurately put together assembly kits.

    · Returning unused product to appropriate locations.

    · Assist with general housekeeping to keep aisles clear of debris.

Your Background

  • · High school diploma or equivalent.

    · Prior material handler experience or warehouse logistics experience preferred.

    · Strong attention to detail.

    · Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    · Thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. · Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

The environment that this role will be working in a production facility that exposes team members to noise and dust.  Candidates must be able to traverse the entire building to obtain parts.  Fine dexterity will be required to operate MEWP’s.  This role will repeatedly ascend or descend a ladder along with retrieving things from shelves that are floor level or above their heads.  Lifting parts up to 35 pounds without assistance is necessary. All team mates are required to wear PPE, as the department needs, for the entire shift.
