Pricing Analyst

Position Summary

The Pricing Analyst supports the Pricing & Commercial Strategy by providing analytical, operational, and reporting support for pricing initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for maintaining pricing accuracy, conducting profitability analysis, developing reporting, and assisting with pricing recommendations that support company growth and margin objectives.

The Pricing Analyst works closely with Sales, Product Management, Operations and Finance to ensure pricing decisions are supported with pricing policies and business objectives.

Core Responsibilities by Function:

Pricing Analytics & Reporting

Estimated time allocation 30-35%

•        Analyze pricing, sales, margin, and customer profitability data to identify trends and opportunities.

•        Develop and maintain recurring pricing reports, dashboards, and scorecards.

•        Support analysis of pricing performance, discount trends, and margin improvement opportunities.

•        Ensure data accuracy and consistency across pricing reports and systems.

•        Assist with ad hoc analytical requests from Sales, Product Management, and Leadership teams.

Pricing Governance, Price Management & Rebate Administration Estimated time allocation 20-30%

·         Support maintenance of customer, product, and contract pricing within company systems.

·         Assist with Price Book updates, price change implementation, and pricing audits.

·         Maintain pricing accuracy and integrity across ERP, CRM and pricing platforms.

·         Partner with Product Management, Finance, and Customer Service teams to ensure rebate programs are accurately reflected in net costs calculations and pricing decisions.

·         Support rebate program audits and reconciliation activities to ensure alignment between negotiated agreements and system execution.

·         Monitor compliance with pricing policies, rebate governance standards, and approval processes.

·         Research and resolve pricing discrepancies, rebate exceptions, and data quality issues.

·         Support periodic pricing reviews and governance activities

Commercial & Sales Support

Estimated time allocation 15-20%

·         Assist Sales teams with pricing requests, quote analysis, and profitability evaluations.

·         Support customer pricing reviews and contract analysis.

·         Prepare pricing recommendations and supporting documentation for approval.

·         Participate in cross-functional discussions related to customer and product pricing.

Pricing Strategy Support

Estimated time allocation 10-15%

·         Support execution of pricing initiatives developed by Pricing Leadership.

·         Conduct competitive pricing research and market analysis

·         Assist with customer segmentation, product segmentation, and pricing opportunity assessments.

·         Support implementation and measurement of pricing actions and initiatives.

Pricing Systems & Continuous Improvement

Estimated time allocation 10-15%

·         Maintain pricing data integrity across ERP, CRM, and pricing platforms.

·         Assist with testing, validation, and implementation of pricing system enhancements.

·         Support process improvement initiatives focused on pricing efficiency and effectiveness.

·         Document pricing procedures and standard operating processes.

Experience

·         2-5 years’ experience in pricing

·         Produces accurate reporting and analysis

·         Makes pricing recommendations supported by data.

·         Manages assigned pricing activities with minimal supervision.

·         Develop deeper understanding of commercial and pricing strategy.

Qualifications

·         Strong Excel and financial modeling capabilities.

·         Experience with data visualization or BI tools

·         Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

·         Experience with pricing software (PROS-Conga is a plus)

·         Experience working with ERP systems and pricing governance processes.

·         Ability to work with large data sets and multiple systems
