Job description

Responsibilities: 
  • Perform Area Inspections of the plant to conform to a predictive maintenance mindset.
  • Inspects completed work for conformity to statutory and company regulations, checks the integrity of equipment used, and ensures that all required tests are done before turning over equipment to production.
  • Performs preventative maintenance repairs of all cement plant equipment (roller presses, crushers, ball mills, pumps, compressors, screening equipment, conveying equipment).
  • Analyze all jobs focusing on safety and properly execute a JHA and WAE.
  • Troubleshoot the cause of the broken equipment and perform proper repair.
  • Responsible for setting up equipment for jobs performed by contractors.
  • Maintains appropriate records, produces written reports and follows inspection schedules in coordination with Maintenance Management.
  • Analyzes procedures and methods within the area of responsibility and seeks new ways to improve the area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A technical or Associate degree is preferred.
  • 5 years of maintenance experience, preferred, with prior experience in the cement or mining industry desirable.

Physical Demands:
  • Plant | 98% of time | Extreme heat, cold, noise, vibrations.
  • Toolroom | 2% of time.
  • Dust and toxic material in the environment | Heavy | Up to 100 lbs.
  • Walk around the field, confined spaces, climb stairs and towers | Heavy | Up to 50 lbs.
  • High noise exposure, and extreme temperature changes | Heavy | Up to 20 lbs.
  • Chemical substances, flash burn | Medium | Up to 20 lbs.
  • Liftover 50 lbs of equipment and parts | Very Heavy | Up to 150 lbs.
