Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, emphasizing the interplay between patients' mental health and their medical conditions to guide effective treatment planning.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that address both psychiatric and medical needs, using evidence-based practices and therapeutic strategies.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing approaches that are sensitive to the unique circumstances of each patient.

• Collaborate effectively with medical providers to ensure a seamless continuum of care, aiming to improve patient outcomes.

• Provide crisis intervention services, offering immediate support during mental health emergencies to stabilize patients.

• Educate patients about the links between their mental health and physical well-being, empowering them to actively manage their conditions and enhance their quality of life.

• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to track patient progress.

• Engage in ongoing professional development by staying current with research in integrated care to enhance treatment practices and patient support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on patients grappling with complex medical and psychiatric conditions. Your therapeutic approach will be integral in assisting individuals who face significant challenges such as chronic pain syndromes, mental health disorders, and substance use issues, providing them with the tools to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• A current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.

• Proven experience in addressing the mental health needs of individuals with co-occurring medical issues and an understanding of integrated care principles.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

• A capacity for maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring patient confidentiality while adhering to ethical guidelines.

• Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in using technology for documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably within an integrated care environment.

• Experience working with diverse populations and a strong understanding of cultural competence in therapeutic settings.

Compensation and Benefits
