Job description

Savvy Staffing is seeking an experienced Metal Stamping Press Operator to set up, operate, and monitor mechanical and/or hydraulic stamping presses producing precision metal components.


The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hands-on press operation experience, a strong understanding of die setup and changeover, and a track record of consistent quality and safety performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Shift

First shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate mechanical and/or hydraulic stamping presses (single-station and progressive die) according to job specifications and CADs
  • Perform die changes, alignment, and adjustments to maintain part tolerance and production efficiency
  • Inspect first-run and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications
  • Monitor press operation for abnormal sounds, vibrations, or output defects and take corrective action or escalate as needed
  • Complete production logs, quality checks accurately and on time
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on assigned presses and tooling
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and proper
  • PPE use
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S or similar workplace standards
  • Collaborate with quality, tooling, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and minimize downtime


Qualifications

  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
  • Preferred 2 years of experience operating metal stamping presses in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience with die setup, changeover, and basic die maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret CADs, work orders, and quality specifications
  • Familiarity with quality documentation
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; technical/vocational training preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and work safely around heavy machinery
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently or in a team setting
