Job description

Job Title:

Brake Press Operator

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal parts according to specifications in a manufacturing and fabrication environment. The candidate will be expected to read and interpret blueprints, select proper tooling, inspect finished parts, and maintain a strong commitment to safety and quality. This position reports to the Production Supervisor. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensuring safety is always the #1 priority. 

• Sets up and operates brake press machines in accordance with production specifications and work orders. 

• Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and job instructions. 

• Selects proper tooling and dies for each job and adjusts machine settings as needed. 

• Inspects and measures finished parts for accuracy using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools. 

• Monitors machine performance and makes necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency. 

• Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. 

• Maintains a clean and organized work area. 

• Follows all safety guidelines and company procedures. 

• Maintains open communication with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines. 

• Must communicate in a timely and effective manner. 

• Must be able to follow directions and complete follow through with directions. 

Qualifications and Skills:

• One or more years of experience operating a brake press or other metal-forming equipment preferred. 

• Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments. 

• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail. 

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. 

• Basic math skills and understanding of measurements. 

• Willingness to work overtime or different shifts if required. 

Work Environment

• Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.

• Use of PPE in production settings required.

• Occasional lifting, bending, repetitive motion, and extended standing/walking.

• Off-shift, overtime, or weekend support may be required.
