The 6-Color Assistant Sheetfed Operator is responsible supporting the operation of the 40" sheetfed press. This role ensures smooth setup, running, and cleanup of press jobs, working closely with the Press Operator to maintain high-quality output and efficient production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Load paper into the feeder and adjust feeder settings (pile height, tapes, wheels, and suckers).
  • Gather and organize job materials (ink, plates, stock, and proofs).
  • Mount and unmount printing plates.
  • Assist with blanket preparation and ink setup.
  • Monitor and maintain ink and paper levels during press runs.
  • Operate and maintain feeder and delivery systems.
  • Perform general press cleanup and return tools to storage.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements
Education, Experience and Training (Knowledge):
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years related experience understanding and working with bindery, mail and/or finishing machines; and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of basic color and print experience.

Skills and Abilities
  • Good verbal, written and listening skills; ability to read, understand and follow SOP's, supervisor instructions and safety, security and quality procedures; clearly communicate detailed instructions.
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Uses self-management skills to plan organize and prioritize work activities to use time efficiently.
  • Reviews all work carefully for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identifies the problem and notifies manager in a timely manner with possible solution
  • Helps and supports all employees in their work.
  • Works effectively with others.
  • Responds positively to instructions and procedures.
