Overview
Goldbelt Security's Alaska Operations provides services throughout Alaska that include intermittent security needs. Goldbelt Security (AK Ops) is separate arm of the Goldbelt Security, LLC, operating out of Juneau and reporting to the VP of Alaska Operations.
Summary:
The Security Guard (Intermittent) performs routine security duties on an as-needed basis to protect property, assets, and personnel. This position provides coverage during staff absences, special events, or periods of increased security needs. The Security Guard conducts patrols, enforces rules and regulations, responds to incidents, and supports overall site safety. This role requires dependability, professionalism, and flexibility to work varying schedules based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure the safety and security of facilities, assets, and personnel
• Monitor access control points and enforce established security and safety procedures
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations as assigned
• Document and report security activities, incidents, and observations accurately and timely
• Provide customer service and assist visitors or employees in accordance with site protocols
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members regarding safety or security concerns
• Support enforcement of environmental, safety, and facility rules
• May be required to work on-call or call-back hours
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
• Solid understanding of security and safety practices
• Ability to analyze and respond appropriately to incidents
• Ability to observe and record events accurately
• Strong communication, observation, and decision-making skills
• Ability to use sound judgment within established procedures
• Proficient in report writing and basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• At least 6-12 months experience with aligned core responsibilities as a licensed security guard
• Experience in safety/security environments (e.g., military, law enforcement)
• Eligible for State of Alaska Security Guard license
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Valid State driver's license and clean record
• Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 3 months of hire
• Must be able to work a flexible intermittent work schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two (2) years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
• Familiarity with industrial, mining, or similar operational environments
