Description
American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching a Plant Controller for our Simpsonville, SC location. This position will report to the Vice President of Finance. In plant position.
The Plant Controller is responsible for planning and coordinating plant budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the plant and provide recommendations to improve site performance.
Responsibilities
• Partner with the Plant Manager to develop robust plans and methods to achieve the financial objectives for the facility
• Full understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flows, operational planning, forecasting, and capital investment analysis
• Deep understanding of fully absorbed cost accounting, with experience in building up and utilizing fully absorbed manufacturing rates, inventory valuation, variance analysis to standard costs, and thorough variance analysis
• Ability to work in a cross functional leadership role to ensure the facility achieves its performance objectives
• Proactively evaluate and recommend productivity improvements through the use of either financial or non-financial KPI's
• Provide cost estimates and profitability analysis on new? products and business opportunities
• Establish reliable internal control processes and procedures, with an eye towards continuous improvement in financial controls
• Timely and accurate completion of the monthly closing process, with in-depth and robust financial reporting
• Daily cash and working capital reporting for revolving credit facility, (experience working within the constraints of an ABL a plus)
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly reporting of key analytical metrics
• Responsible for managing up to three transactional clerks, A/P, A/R, and Order entry
• Lead financial planning, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
• Provides analytics that anticipate change and drive proactive decision-making processes
• Manage capital planning, approval process and ROI tracking
• Assists in plant contract evaluation and negotiation
• Thorough experience in ERP usage, with implementation and ERP upgrade experience a plus
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
• Prior manufacturing accounting experience
• Highly motivated and results driven
• Excellent communication skills
• CMA, CPA is a plus.
• Solid MS Office Skills: MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Technical Writing Skills
