Job Description Northern Staffing Services is seeking a qualified candidate for the Facility Maintenance Technician Position with A.L.P. Lighting located in Charlevoix. This is a 1st shift position from 6:48am-3pm

Competitive starting pay starting at $19/Hour. FUNCTION: Perform functions to maintain facilities, buildings, and the systems and grounds. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITIED TO: Accept responsibility for your Safety and the Safety of others by using Safety awareness to eliminate unsafe acts and correct unsafe conditions.

Participate in Lean events and initiatives to support a culture of continuous improvement. Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions. Work with Quality and Manufacturing personnel to resolve manufacturing problems.

Perform minor electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and masonry work. Prepare the surfaces and paint various structures and equipment to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe environment. Exercise judgement and initiative to plan ahead, anticipate problems and complete assignments.

Provide and coordinate the plant, buildings, building systems, and plant and manufacturing equipment, including external. Order materials and parts from various vendors. Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.

Responsible for any other special projects as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED Must have knowledge of HVAC, structure maintenance, plumbing compressed air systems, and electrical systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal skills
