Description

 This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity for an associate-level physician to deliver high-quality care within a dedicated medical practice setting.

As a Locum Medical Doctor, you will play an essential role in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions. Working on-site, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care that aligns with the latest clinical standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical guidelines.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory panels, imaging studies, and biopsies.
  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments as clinically indicated.
  • Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment responses, and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and support staff to coordinate multidisciplinary patient care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records in accordance with best practices.
  • Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, side effects, and supportive care resources.
  • Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all medical protocols, safety regulations, and institutional policies.
  • Provide on-call coverage and manage acute patient presentations as required.
  • Stay current with advances in hematology and oncology research and integrate evidence-based practices into care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Board certification or active candidacy in Hematology, Oncology, or Hematology-Oncology.
  • Valid medical license in the relevant jurisdiction or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Experience in a clinical setting, with direct exposure to hematology and/or oncology patient care.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard clinical software.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary medical team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing clinical demands and patient needs.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification as required for clinical practice.

Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 4 days per week

Light call requirement

Setting: Outpatient

Patient Volume: 15+ per day

1 round of consults in the morning and 1 round in the afternoon

Case Mix: 60-70% hematology, 30-40% medical oncology

Support Staff: Additional physicians, RNs, social worker, etc.

EMR: Meditech and Aria

Must be board-certified
