About This Role


Established in 2003, Willowcreek Academy offers exceptional Early Childhood Educational programs to children aged 4 weeks to 5 years, as well as outstanding school-aged childcare. Our faculty is comprised of degreed and credentialed teachers, supported by Assistant Teachers who meet Virginia Licensing regulations. We prioritize staff education, training, and professional development to ensure they are current in Early Childhood Education trends and practices. Our diverse staff reflects the community we serve, and we welcome all individuals who share our values.


Schedules vary, but most positions are day shifts, Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Preschool Teacher in implementing engaging lesson plans and curriculum
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Monitor and track progress, identifying areas for improvement through regular assessments
  • Collaborate with parents to maintain open communication and involvement in their child's education
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior
  • Assist with daily tasks and activities to ensure a smooth operation

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and best practices
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Familiarity with literacy education and early childhood development principles
  • Ability to educate and engage young learners through creative teaching methods
  • Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
  • Additional tutoring or physical education experience is a plus
  • Ability to hold a degreed or credentialed teaching position
