A Mac (Prepress) Operator is a crucial member of our team that support the printing process, particularly in the pre-press function. They are responsible for reviewing and preparing digital files to meet printing specifications, including color correction, layout adjustments, and final proofing.  Additionally, they work on pre-press production, checking for issues like bleed, pagination, and font problems.

Please note:

  • This is not a typical press operator position - this role will focus on the pre-flight process, to ensure files are in perfect state, for production. The role will require experience using Adobe software on a Mac computer, in order to review and manage files before submitting them for production.


What You'll Do as a Mac (Prepress) Operator:

  • Set-up client files for output to Digital and Offset Presses
  • Ensure a top quality pre-flight technical check, verifying all images meet requirements and look their best.
  • Check inks, trim, bleed, image resolution, etc.
  • 1up art prep for press from supplied PDF and native art. 
  • Trap and fix bleeds and troubleshoot art files as needed.
  • Impose files for press (i.e. press layout, marks, color bars, etc.)
  • Output of proofs; handling the imposition proofs for press layout approval and contract color proofs for match
  • Output of plates in plate room and file completed jobs when needed
  • Calibrate output devices
  • Review and ensure accuracy to all provided ticket orders and layouts
  • Meet production schedule

We're Looking for a Mac (Prepress) Operator with:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a Prepress related role
  • Experience using a Mac computer is required
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software, in a Prepress environment is required
  • Strong knowledge of pre-press software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, ArtPro+, etc.), is required
  • Experience trouble shooting files during pre-flight process
  • Experience in understanding the folding of cartons
  • Strong organizational skills in file management
  • Experience with multi-tasking, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to independently manage one’s own time and projects, to meet deadlines/ due dates.
  • Skills that are nice pluses include 
    • Printing and plate making
    • Working knowledge with CAD
    • Experience with Esko and Automation Engine

Physical requirements and working conditions: 

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues
  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead
  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems
  • This Mac (Prepress) Operator position is located on-site in our Dallas facility
