Job description

Title: Assistant Boys' Basketball Coach - Beech Grove High School

Reports To: Athletic Director & Varsity Boys' Basketball Head Coach


General Responsibilities:

Position is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing the boys' high school basketball program for Beech Grove City Schools. This position will assist with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student-athletes in game strategies and techniques. Primary responsibility will be for the freshman boys basketball team.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate with a diverse group of athletes, coaches, and parents
  • Provide basketball coaching while developing essential life skills and positive character
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment for team members
  • Assist in the monitoring of academic progress of team members
  • Always represent the school and community in a positive light
  • Support the head coach in the implementation of his vision and goals for the Beech Grove High School Basketball Program


Qualifications:

  • Past playing experience preferred
  • Past coaching experience preferred
