Job description

This is a second shift position.  Hours are 3pm-12am.

This pay range for the opportunity is $75,000-$80,000/year.

Summary – This position requires an individual who is able to work in a busy environment, is detailed and team oriented. The Prep Manager oversees all raw material preparation and the thaw process. In addition to the prep process the Prep Manager will oversees all activities of Production Sanitation. Utilize Supervisor(s) and key personnel to ensure the accurate, efficient and cost-effective prep and delivery of fully kitted batches delivered to Production. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for training, coaching and oversight of Prep Supervisors and key personnel. 
  • Ensure all inventory is maintained with agreed upon guidelines and is real time verifiable within the system. 
  • Oversees all prep process, practices and procedures. 
  • Responsible to ensure proper levels of staffing is maintained within the department, while adhering to labor costs. 
  • Continually follow up with Materials warehouse personal to assure effective communication amongst the departments. 
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, lot tracking, QA, Allergen program and procedures. 
  • Maintain consistency within all shifts, procedural enforcement. 
  • Ensure timely kitted recipes and coordination to and from prep and production in a way that eliminates production downtime. 
  • Work with supervisors to maintain standard of pound per man hour (PPMH) are met, and timely delivery to the kettles. 
  • Enforce all UDSA and FDA labeling   guidelines for all raw ingredients prepped and ingredients returned to the warehouse. 
  • Continually follow-up with planning to assure all ingredients and preparation of ingredients are followed through according to schedule demand. 
  • Oversight and accountability of approximately. 5 Prep Supervisors -. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 
  • Departmental responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Requirements: 

  •  Associates Degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 2 year to 4years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 3-5 years supervisory/manager experience, preferably in manufacturing environment. 
  • Inventory software and Manufacturing software. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
