St. Paul's Assisted Living in South Bend is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary services team. The Prep Cook supports the kitchen by preparing ingredients and assisting with basic food preparation to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented meals in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items according to recipes and menu requirements
  • Assist cooks and chefs in preparing and plating meals for residents
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, prep areas, and equipment
  • Properly label and store food items to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contamination
  • Follow all food safety regulations and company policies
  • Help with receiving and storing deliveries and rotating stock
  • Work collaboratively with the dietary team to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the Chef or Food Service Manager

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting strongly preferred
