We are currently seeking a full time prep cook to join our culinary team at RiverMead. At RiverMead, community and inclusivity are at the heart of what we do. As a prep cook, you will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards for food quality and safety. Your responsibilities will include preparing cold entrees, appetizers, salads, and desserts according to preparation sheets and recipes for our dining venues, health care centers, and special functions. You will also create accompaniments and garnishes, with a strong emphasis on eye appeal and presentation.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare ingredients for hot and cold entrees, appetizers, sauces, salads and desserts, following preparation sheets and provided recipes for dining venues, health care center, and special functions.
  • Perform food preparation using proper food handling methods and equipment. Utilize techniques which comply with safety and sanitation rules and practices.
  • Complete required food temperature checks.
  • Taste all prepared food items.
  • Performance preparation in advance for future meal services and items as directed.
  • Complete preparation records and stores food items properly at close of meal service.
  • - Maintain accurate preparation records and properly store food items at the end of the meal service.
  • Clean the work area and equipment in accordance with RiverMead standards.
  • Perform other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill out mission, and abide by our organizations values.

Minimum Qualifications:**
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of six months of experience serving and/or in food service is required; previous cooking experience is preferred.
  • Must be self-directed and dependable.
  • Must be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude!
