Job description

Job Title: Blow/Injection Mold Tech

Schedule: D Shift: Sunday-Tuesday: 6pm- 6am, Wednesday: 6pm-12am

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years work-related experience or training preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Computer experience is required.
  • Reports to Production Manager and Blow Mold Lead. This position may work with little supervision.
  • Forklift certification (Must complete certification within 90 days of hire.)

Responsibilities:

This position operates and performs routine maintenance to blow mold equipment. The incumbent is responsible for supplying bottles as a raw material to multiple PWI plants at a minimal cost to the company. The position is required to work 12-hour shifts.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Operates blow mold machinery and ensures through constant observation and routine inspections that high quality product is being produced.
  • Performs basic cleaning and preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Detect jams or malfunctions and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate blow molding machines to mold PET bottles.
  • Install dies onto machines or presses, then coat dies with parting agents, according to work order specifications.
  • Use a forklift to store palletized bottles in the warehouse for transport.
  • Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.

GMP & PPE Required:

While on the production floor in the plant you will be required to follow and help to enforce all GMP regulations in the plant. Anyone entering the production floor must follow the GMP rules in their employee handbook, which includes the required hairnets, beard nets, and earplugs. It is also required that all personnel wear safety glasses. Follows standard operating procedures including quality checks and procedures for all operations. Meets food safety and quality objectives and the requirements of the SQF System.

Performs related work as assigned by the Manager.
