Job description

General Manager – Gordon Tavern & 86 Speakeasy

Location: The Gordon Hotel | Eugene, Oregon Compensation: Competitive salary + performance-based bonus (Upwards of $100k annual earning potential)

The Opportunity Gordon Tavern is seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven General Manager to lead our F&B operations inside The Gordon Hotel in the heart of downtown Eugene.

This is much more than a traditional restaurant GM role. You will oversee multiple distinct concepts within one premier property: the acclaimed Gordon Tavern, the unique 86 Speakeasy, and the second-floor Hotel Event Spaces. This role is designed for a dynamic hospitality leader who thrives on variety, loves building teams, and wants to make a comprehensive impact on a property-wide guest experience.

The Hotel Partnership A critical aspect of this role is cultivating a seamless partnership with The Gordon Hotel leadership. Because the restaurant, speakeasy, and event spaces all contribute to a unified guest experience, success requires excellent communication, collaboration, and a deep understanding that great hospitality extends well beyond the dining room.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Daily Operations: Direct front-of-house and back-of-house operations for Gordon Tavern and 86 Speakeasy, while supporting high-level execution for hotel events.

  • Build & Mentor the Team: Recruit, hire, train, and retain exceptional staff. Coach a talented management and hourly team to foster a positive, accountable, and professional culture.

  • Elevate the Guest Experience: Uphold exacting standards for food quality, beverage execution, cleanliness, and service.

  • Financial Leadership: Drive sales and profitability. Monitor labor, food, beverage, and controllable costs to consistently achieve P&L goals.

  • Community & Partnerships: Cultivate strong relationships with guests, vendors, hotel leadership, and Eugene community partners to identify new business opportunities.

  • Lead by Example: Maintain an active, visible presence on the floor and partner with Urban Restaurant Group directors to execute company initiatives.

  • Ensure Compliance: Strictly uphold all health, safety, liquor, and labor regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 2+ years of restaurant management experience required (General Manager experience is highly preferred). Hotel F&B experience is a major plus.

  • Financial Acumen: Foundational understanding of restaurant financials, including P&L management, budgeting, labor, and cost controls. (We are willing to train and develop the right candidate on advanced financials).

  • Leadership Style: A collaborative, solutions-oriented professional with a genuine passion for developing people.

  • Operational Agility: Proven ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while balancing multiple concepts under one roof.

Compensation & Benefits

  • High Earning Potential: Competitive base salary with lucrative performance-based bonuses (Earning potential of $100,000+ annually).

  • Paid time off (PTO).

  • Generous dining discounts.

  • Exceptional opportunities for professional growth within Urban Restaurant Group.

About Us Located inside The Gordon Hotel, Gordon Tavern offers an elevated yet approachable dining experience celebrating Pacific Northwest flavors with warm, genuine hospitality. We are committed to creating memorable experiences for every guest while fostering a workplace culture built around teamwork, professionalism, and excellence.

If you are a passionate hospitality leader ready to take the helm of multiple premier concepts, we want to hear from you. Apply today to join our team!
