Job Description
New York Vascular Group is part of a large group of Board-Certified Vascular Surgeons with several locations in the North East. The Cornwall, NY location is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with experience in vascular procedures for our office based Angio Suite. The Radiologic Technologist responsibilities include prepping patients, scrubbing for procedures, timely room turnover, maintaining/ordering inventory, and other assigned tasks. Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab experience are required.
Job Type: Per-Diem
Types of procedures
  • Peripheral and visceral angiography, stent placement, angioplasty, atherectomy, thrombectomy, central venous access, venograms, IVC filter placement and AV shunt imaging and interventions.
Primary Duties:
  • Understands how to set, adjust, and control a c-arm fluoroscope to safely apply ionizing radiation for radiographic examinations.
  • Minimize patient and occupational exposure through shielding, proper techniques and applying the principals of ALARA
  • Assists physicians in the completion of invasive vascular imaging procedures
  • Has detailed knowledge of all exams that can be performed in the OBL angiosuite and can explain procedures to patients and their families.
  • Maintenance and knowledge of how to operate all equipment used in the angiosuite including: Ultrasound, digital subtraction angiography, cine radiography, contrast injector, Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), atherectomy devices and angiojet device.
  • Familiar with sterile technique and performs the role of scrub or circulator
  • Extensive knowledge of all products in lab including: Specialty wires, catheters, angioplasty balloons, all varieties of stents, ports and central lines.
  • Post processing of radiographic images on radiographic equipment and in the PACs system
  • Inventory management
  • Prep all procedures and communicate with physicians about necessary equipment, products, and approach
  • Extensive understanding of anatomy and physiology is important.
Qualifications:
License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:
  • National RT(R) credentialing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing with the ethics committee
  • Current State of New York Radiologic Technologist License
  • Experience with vascular imaging procedures
  • Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification by date of hire

DESIRED for the position:
  • Extensive experience with vascular imaging procedures including angiography, PVD interventions, embolization and thrombectomy procedures
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Interventional radiology setting preferred
  • Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV), or Cardiac Interventional (CI) Radiography credentials from the ARRT preferred
  • Current ACLS Provider certification by date of hire
