Job description

TITLE: Senior Electrical Estimator
LOCATION: Ashburn, VA

POSITION SUMMMARY: The Senior Construction Electrical Estimator will be responsible for providing cost estimates for conceptual designs and new region expansion projects and develop budgets for new projects in existing regions across a portfolio of fast-paced construction projects 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • Attend site walks as necessary to assist in generating estimates and proposals 

  • Generate estimates for potential projects CPG is bidding 

  • Assist in proposal development 

  • Work with the PreCon managers to help maintain a database of bid documents for reference upon award of contract 

  • Attend kickoff meetings to assist in the smooth handoff of the project from bid to execution 

  • Travel as needed 

  • Provide oversite of RFI and Submittal processes 

  • Identify additional opportunities for CPG to generate revenue 

  • Additional as required 

  • Manage internal and external relations while on site. 

  • Utilize tools and templates for various levels of estimates and project types, including risk assessment 

  • Utilize and manage repository for historical data including cost performance metrics in comparison to estimate 

  • Analyze and provide timely feedback of vendor proposals using AWS benchmark data 

  • Validate large or complex changes with regards to cost impacts 

  • Manage revision control of scope and estimate for new designs and innovations 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience (Desired): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Cost Management or Quantity Surveying or equivalent 

  • 5+ years of experience in construction estimating/cost control field, with specific knowledge of MEP and ASC cost elements 

  • Data Center experience a plus 

  • Experience building or expanding estimating or cost control programs across a large organization 

  • Experience leading and training a team 

  • Ability to interpret contract terms, conditions, and exhibits as applicable to project requirements 

Computer Skills: 

  • Windows power user skill set, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and estimating software such as Trimble/Accubid
